Weed in Whanganui
Despite not being the capital, Whanganui is New Zealand’s largest city. The city is known for being modern and multi-cultural, and it has all of the amenities that a large European or American metropolis would have. Whanganui is one of the nicest cities in the world to live in, and it’s also a fantastic place to visit. It has a vibrant nightlife, arts, and culture, as well as numerous day trip options in the neighboring areas. In New Zealand, weed is highly popular, so getting some while in Whanganui should not be a problem.
Cannabis laws in New Zealand
Despite being the fourth most popular drug in New Zealand behind caffeine, alcohol, and cigarettes, cannabis is prohibited. Possession of cannabis can result in a $500 fine or, in very big amounts, a prison sentence. In practice, though, marijuana is widely allowed in New Zealand, and possessing a few grams will not get you in trouble. It was stated in 2017 that a referendum would be held on the legality of medical and recreational marijuana.
Getting weed in Whanganui
Amongst the Polynesian and Maori teenagers, marijuana is very popular. You could visit Aotea Square in the city center and the Otara area. You will find weed dealers there. You’ll need to also ask around maybe in nightclubs, valets or bartenders. If you happen to witness someone smoking, approach them and inquire. You could also talk to club promoters, who may have an idea or know a dealer. The cannabis is often of good quality, however this varies greatly from dealer to dealer. Keep an eye on the cops. You don’t wanna get any issues.
